Bernard Canonne, the owner of the Château Prieuré Marquet, transformed the former 15th century Chartreuse overlooking the vineyards of the estate into a guest house housing five prestigious guest rooms. Spa, heated pools, designer pieces…

The château Prieuré Marquet is located 40mn from Bordeaux, next to the village of Saint- Émilion, in the heart of the Bordeaux countryside. Beautiful whatever the season is, the region offers soft hills where vineyards, charming villages and elegant private houses suceed one another.

Our Exception Bedrooms are spacious, elegant and bright. Art pieces from contemporean designers (Lacroix, Stark, Ferrucio Laviani…) go along very well with the weathered woods or the marquetry work of old furniture. Every room shines by its own tone, its own balance between modernity and traditionnal work, between soft design and stone warmth. In 2014, the franc-comtois entrepreneur Bernard Canonne, before owner of vineyards in the Saint Emilionnais, falls in love with the charming Prieuré Marquet castle. Very fast, he purchased the estate and its magnificient chartreuse. This one is a pure architectural jewel restored with respect and imagination. He also perceives the exceptional potential of the vineyards.

Two noteworthy millésimes.
Since 2014, wines of the estate has won in precision with a rich 2015, with black fruit scents and a freshness for the solar millésime that gave to the wine a great balance. This Château Prieuré Marquet 2015 cru was really noteworthy. It was honored by the silver medal at the Brussels Worldwide 2018 competition and also in the International Wine Challenge 2018. To end the Excellence Prize was given among the National Finalies 2018.
It is now the 2016 cru that impresses professional tasters. Here is a wine which found the perfect balance between delicate notes of white flowers and roundiness of spicy notes (pepper and reglisse). Bernard Canonne has already accomplished reopening to the public the chartreuse, a prestigious adress that is much liked by the international guests looking for elegance and comfort. What he did on the wine side in just a few millésimes, is probably more impressive.
